IGN本次评选参阅了近30年来的经典游戏中的无数经典时刻，上榜的100个游戏时刻中，排在前三位的分别是《最终幻想7》中艾瑞斯的死、《合金装备》中遇见意念螳螂boss和《塞尔达传说：时之笛》中从石头中拔出剑的场景。

上榜理由：The early Tomb Raider games always had a fondness for pitting Lara Croft against large, carnivorous dinosaurs. But of all the extinct reptiles that Lara has encountered down the years, it's her first tangling with T-Rex that has left the greatest impact. To put it in context, by the time you reach this scene, you have encountered bats, wolves, bears – typical fodder for any archeologist-adventurer – and even the odd raptor. But even the latter doesn't adequately prepare you for the sheer size and ferocity of the T-Rex as it stomps into view. Published two years after the release of Jurassic Park, this moment definitely takes some cues from Spielberg - though worryingly for Lara, this terrible lizard seems to be perfectly capable of seeing a stationary target.

For the most part, the enemies that players encounter throughout the first-ever adventure of Lara Croft are the kinds of unsurprising aggressive animals you’d expect to see lurking in the shadows of the caves and ruins and tombs she raids. But even after things turn supernatural and foes like demons and mummies appear to oppose Lara in her exploration, little prepares you for the moment when a towering Tyrannosaurus lumbers out from behind a corner and begins to chase Lara down. At this early point in console gaming history, the Tomb Raider 1 T-Rex was the most intimidating foe yet encountered in any 3D adventure – and its appearance was especially timely given the massive box office success of Jurassic Park just three years earlier. The movie taught us to fear the T-Rex, and then here we were, face-to-face with one with only Lara Croft’s acrobatic backflips and dual-wielded pistols able to keep you from being its next meal.
