This is probably the longest I've ran a single category without swapping out to another (I did do some small categories here and there, but never changed the main goal). I started derusting this back in November, a month after I got my TR4 Any% Glitchless PB, which makes about 6 months of on and off attempts at this category. Initially, the goal was sub 48, but as I inched closer, I realized I could take the WR. I just needed to get lucky.
During the past week, I did a lot more attempts at this category, and I was doing much better than any other time in the past. Consistently sub 3 GW and 8:3X Italy%. All I needed was to make it to late game and get lucky. That's exactly what happened this run. I barely used meds, and had 4 smalls and 2 larges going into DL. Then I got an above average HSH, which brought the run home. This is the 3rd sub 48 run (Footi and Critz being the first two), and the first 47:3X. I couldn't be happier with this run.
Huge shoutout to Critzb and Footi who pushed this run lower and lower over all of these years. Never did I think I could do as well as these two legends.
With that, I will leave TR2 any% (hopefully I never run it again). I will also take a long break from speedruns, as I think that is quite deserved at this point.
